HELP! Major problems with Blogger

I've been having major problems with Blogger this week. It's taking forever to get even a simple post up and loading pictures is a nightmare. I had assumed it was limited to my main blog www.myforddreams.blogspot.com so I tried starting a new one www.myforddreams2.blogspot.com and see if I had any better luck. But posting on a new blog and posting pictures is still problematic. Can anyone recommend another blog service, that's as easy to use and free??

I'm not very technical, so if you have any advice email me at myforddreams@aol.com

Thanks,
Joe

Hay BigFordFan, its Brian from Racedriven, I have just moved back to blogger after a large problem at Wordpress.com and I am having a problem somewhat with images uploading, but not posting. Maybe your account is full or at least the picture hosting is full, how many images and posts do you have on MyFordDreams.

For free blog hosting, I don't know, I will do some searching and check out a couple. LiveJournal might be good...You do have to cut down on your images, period, WordPress.com had a 10-25 meg limit.

Good Luck.

Ben from Ben's Car Blog here.

I've had a blog on blogger. It was OK but I wanted more functionality and I found the interface to be clunky.

I switched to a free wordpress host, blogsome, that is hosted in Ireland. Not bad, but wordpress blogs are a major target of comment spam.

I have just switched to Supersized.org and combined my personal, research and car blogs into one. Supersized allowed me to import all my old posts from blogger (sans links and pics, but better than nothing), it allows separate URLs for different categories, allowing readers to only read my car posts or my research posts.

Also, I don't host pics on my blog host, I use imageshack, which is a free picture hosting service, for pics I didn't take and flicker for ones that I did.

Yes, this is a little more complicated than just using blogger but the extra power is worth it, in my opinion.

Hey Brian and Ben, I have 1120 posts on my original blog since April 1 2005 and at least that many photos on the blog. My posts average 2 pics each, with some having none, and some having 9-10.

Blogger has been good to me for the past 11 months, I think maybe I'll just add a new blog MyFordDreams2 and see how that goes. Means a lot of work for me, moving links and such, but I'm not the most technical guy and Blogger is easy and free. So I should be up to speed with something early next week. I'm hoping that people will update links after the change, but since this is for hobby and not profit, I'll just go with what's easy.

Hi all:

Blogger is having critical problems since february. I couldn´t upload images neither, for at least 15 days. Ohhh and don´t think to write to blogger help: is dead...or at least nobody at blogger wants to help. It´s amazing how the main worldwide blog host don´t care about users.......

I use Typepad for CCC. They had some major issues a few months ago and it totally sucked, but they are in pretty good shape now.

The money isn't really major. CCC! is hosted for $49.50 a year. :)

I everyone, just a couple of things, with any payed blogging service, you are limited to your bandwidth and your disk space. Its the same on free blogging services too, only blogger doesn't have restrictions, but that may change too. I thought I read some where about the picture service having a limited too on blogger.

There are many blogger hosted blogs that have over 1120 posts, but not over 3000 pictures give or take as well.

1120 posts less than 1 year, damn... I have been blogging for 1 year and only have 242 posts.

I don't know what to do here...Good Luck and its your choose, payed or free and where?

OK, Blogger seems to have it's act together, and I'm going to stay there because it's FREE. Now that said MyFordDreams is dead. Well not dead, but it's now got multiple personalilty disorder.

I've set up 3 new blogs to carry on where I left off. MyFordDreams2 , Non-FordDreams and AlternativeFuelUniverse. I will of course be concentrating on MyFordDreams2, but for some extra fun, the others let me deal with issues not exclusive to Ford. And if I'm right and part of the reason posting is so slow, is the sheer number of posts and photos, it will be easier. I was never happy with my original template, I hate Orange, and the new one is green, so it's more pleasant. Ideally a Ford blog should be blue, but I like greeen.
